With a background in software engineering, he became a serial entrepreneur during the internet boom and has since invested in over 40 tech and communications startups. In 2023, he was awarded Angel of the Year by Investors Portugal. Rui’s early ventures earned national innovation awards, and he was publicly funded to explore AI-assisted music composition.
